Three Sons

It’s not my role, if I have a role at all,
To compare these guys with others.
Yet without likening them to others
I am left without an analogy.
So they must be viewed as a detached presence
To be judged from a purely subjective source.
In truth I am far more comfortable
Knowing that my evaluation is honest,
If totally flawed.

All three boys are much taller then their father.
They smile easily: work at their jobs,
And care about family.
None have religious associations
But all, I think, accept the biblical morality
Of  “Do unto others”.
I’d like to have lunch with them every week,

And hug them as they leave..
